Guadeloupe: Catch the beauty of this butterfly-shaped island in the middle of the Caribbean. Surrounded by a deep blue ocean with snow-white sandy beaches, this istruly a sailor's paradise.  Experience the difference between Grand Terre and Basse Terre.  One with flat beaches, and quiet, and theother with a rich rain forest set amidst volcanic rocks.  Sail intothe river Salee within Guadeloupe or to Dominica (4 hours sail from Guadeloupe),or take a river trip through the rain forest.  Go hiking or experiencethe heat of the boiling lake in the Valley of Desolation.  Enjoy the warmth of the natural Trafalgar Falls after a long day's sailing. Do not forget to stop at Marie Galante for superb beaches.  Or, sailto Les Saintes, a group of little islands situated close to Guadeloupe which is usually full of colorful fishing boats.  This is also an excellent spot for snorkeling or diving.

The local currency is French Franc.  You can get your currency exchanged at "Credit Agricole" bank located at the Gosier marina. It is open from 8:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (with a lunch hour between 1:30to 2:15 p.m.).
