In these areas of the Old World, you will find a rare and pleasing mixture
of people, culture, their exotic foods and rugged scenery in direct contact
with what are undoubtedly the most beautiful and charming sailing waters.
Ocean currents are the mildest here and inter-island distances within 15-30
miles. The summer months bring an abundance of the sun's warmth and
make the sailing experience worth every bit of it. You can startyour
"easy sailing" from Corfu and visit Ithaca, Cephalonia, Paxos and many
other cosmopolitan islands. If you start from Athens you will have
a chance to sail around Cyclade’s 39 islands. The island of Kos isanother
interesting spot to start your sailing from. Rich in history, magical
Greece is therefore a sure place to sail more than once.
We have a wide variety of luxury yachts that you can choose from. If you like to sail a crewed charter, we have them available too. Or, if you are a sailing enthusiast, then the bareboats we offer are sureto delight you. We can arrange local sight seeing tours in Athens,Corfu and Rhodes. These places and most others do take major credit cards. Cars, motor bikes and jeeps are available for rental too. Turkey:Mild in climate and in winds, the Turkish coast offers excellent sailing waters in addition to secluded beaches and coves. Average temperatures during the summer months are between 70 to 90 degrees Farenheit. The winds are generally from the north and mild in strength. This area, like Greece, is amazingly warm and filled with a historically rich countryside. There are famous archeological sites you can exploreon land as well as charming restaurants, bargain shops where you would find colorful clothes, furs and a host of local handicraft. You willfind enticing mysteries and an ancient civilization. From Marmaris,sail to the little town of Bodrum for shopping, nightlife, bars and disco. You can enjoy tasty food and shop for exotic spices or for Turkey’s colorful carpets. Be sure to visit any bazaar to get a feel for Turkey’s commercial rhythm. One generally flies into Daleman and takes a taxi to Marmaris to beginsailing. We can arrange for the taxi service or car rental from Marmaris. If you arrive a day or more early, we can arrange for suitable accomodations (resorts are surprisingly inexpensive), and also book any site seeing tours that you may wish to undertake before beginning to sail. |
