Virgin Islands (Tortola): Constant trade winds and
calm seas make this an ideal spot for a first time charter. Summer
is ideal to sail for first timers as winds seldom exceed 10-15 knots. Even
during the winter season, which lasts from November to March, windsare
still below 30 knots. Temperatures, however, are always between70
to 80 degrees Farenheit (21 to 26 degrees Celcius) year round. This is
also an excellent diving spots because a lot is known about this region
and the coral life. The range of activities is enormous from swimming
to snorkeling to horse back riding.
Fishing: Fishing is allowed with permits. If you decide to fish/sport fish, please tell us so that we can arrange for appropriate documents. Permits are inexpensive (about 10 US dollars per person,per 30 day period). Diving: Diving packages are available upon inquiry. Mostly, equipment can be rented at the harbor where you plan to begin sailing. Also, refills for oxygen tanks are available at varoius locations throughout the BVI (e.g., Cooper Island: Underwater Safaris, Peter Island: Dive BVI). Call us for more information and pricing schedules. Wind surfing/kayaking: This is an excellent outdoor/water activity which is enjoyable by adults and kids. Whlie sailing gives you the thrills, kayaking and windsurfing provide the relaxation to goalong. Rental equipment packages are available at Tortola for beginners to advanced enthusiasts. Special packages for kids (age 5-12) arealso available. In the BVI, sixty different islands harbor their own tropical beautyalong with rugged volcanic rocks. Sail to Cane Garden Bay, one ofthe most famous beaches of the world. With colorful fish and living reefs,the BVI is rich in underwater life. Visit Norman Islands, Peter Islands,Cooper Islands, The Dogs, Guana Islands, Green Cay, and Jost Van Dyke andmuch, much more. And do not forget Virgin Gorda and its famous Bitter End Yacht Club. Sail away to Anagada and taste the homemade pastries and jams at Pam’s Kitchen. Enjoy the variety of restaurants and nightspots imbuing a blend of British and Caribbean cultures.
